I'm excited to announce that a new partnership has been launched in the sustainable agriculture world - Paydirt Ventures. Founded by me, Holley Atkinson,Janine Yorio and Tina Nacrelli, our goal is to bring much needed information to people in this sector who are right now looking for jobs.
 
Consumer demand for sustainably-sourced foods has created a tsunami of change within the food industry.  Even industry stalwarts like General Mills and Sysco aim to perpetuate more earth-friendly food production methods.  As a result, unique and fulfilling job opportunities exist, but job demand exceeds the number of jobs available in this emerging sector.  Successful candidates will need an edge over their numerous competitors.

On Tuesday, June 8th 2010, career seekers get a chance to hear industry insiders revealing their secrets and tips for cracking into the high-growth field of sustainable agriculture in a webinar called, “Landing Your Dream Job:  Step-by-Step Strategies Toward a Career in Sustainable Agriculture” -- start time is at 1pm EST, 75 minutes including 15 minute Q&A at the end.

This coming Tuesday, stop by the Brooklyn Farmacy to catch a glimpse of reality TV in action and see Hudson Valley Fresh make its Discovery Channel debut! The mysterious Vermont Market and Pharmacy, once closed, then reopened as Brooklyn Farmacy, then closed again, is now coming to life with the rocket boosting power of Discovery Channel's  Construction Intervention, a reality show starring New York City construction veteran Charlie Frattini that saves crumbling businesses by rebuilding them within a week. Petey, one of the owners of this locavore-ish soda fountain has requested that Hudson Valley Fresh be present at the launch - a man who obviously knows quality when he tastes it.
